I’m Dr. Will Dawson—a private GP, longevity and preventative health specialist, and former national NHS clinical leader with over 17 years of experience in medicine.

I’ve always believed that healthcare should do more than manage disease. It should empower people to take control of their health long before anything goes wrong. It should help us feel better now, protect us from illness in the future, and support us in living a life of strength, clarity, and purpose.

But for a long time, that’s not what I saw in practice. In the traditional system, we often wait too long to act. People are reassured rather than heard. They’re told to come back if things get worse. And when they do, it’s often too late for prevention—only reaction.

I know this from experience—both as a doctor, and as a patient.

Years ago, I went to my own GP with real concerns about my health. I knew something wasn’t right. But I was advised not to self-diagnose and was gently reassured. I left feeling dismissed. Only through persistence—and professional courtesy—was I given a scan. That scan revealed cancer.

The treatment that followed saved my life. But it was the experience leading up to the diagnosis that had the biggest impact on me. It made me reflect deeply on how we do medicine—and how we could do it better. I realised that if I’d listened to the reassurance, and not to my own instincts, my story might have ended very differently.

That moment changed everything for me—both personally and professionally.

Over the years that followed, I led national primary care services and saw that the problem wasn’t rare. It was systemic. As doctors, we often wait for clear symptoms. We’re trained to rule out the worst, not to detect the early signs of decline. We focus on what’s wrong—not on what could be stronger, clearer, more resilient.

And so I chose to leave the conventional model—and build something different.
